Sav-Mor Leather & Supply Co. was established in 1970 where we were located on 11th and Santee. Beginning as an idea from a home garage, it has turned into a multi-generational family business that has sustained through decades. Starting in the 1970’s looking at the wealth of manufacturing and artistry taking place in the world our founder Ralph D. Marty set out to create a business that would be able to supply the masses and still have a personal touch with its customers. As with any business there were always difficult times that led the business to pivot in whatever direction was necessary but as those storms were weathered, Sav-Mor has always come back to its core business of leather and hardware accessories.

Throughout the journey we have been able to move across downtown Los Angeles and even offer small expansion along the way. We have supported outposts in Portland and San Luis Obispo through the years and even though those stores are no longer in operation they served to grow our customer base throughout the United States and help the business learn about the larger leather world. Sav-Mor will be forever grateful to the people that contributed to those stores, and they will always be a critical part of our journey.

Entering the 90’s it became clear that the world was getting smaller and there was a global market that can be served and drawn from. We have taken advantage of such developments and been able to expand our product offerings to much of what you see available now. Core products remained very popular but by reaching out to other leather makers around the world we were able to enhance the quality of our products and bring along innovations that make some familiar products better.
